FAQ : the Benefits of the Salt Room
How long should you stay in a salt room?
45 minutes
Sessions usually last for about 45 minutes. A device called a halogenerator grinds salt into microscopic particles and releases them into the air of the room. Once inhaled, these salt particles are claimed to absorb irritants, including allergens and toxins, from the respiratory system.

How often should you go to a salt room?
How often do you need to come for salt therapy sessions? If you're new to salt therapy, it's suggested to try having 3-5 visits within 2 weeks, to give your respiratory system a gentle cleansing boost.

What to expect in a Himalayan salt room?
During your session you are surrounded with Himalayan Pink Salt covering the ground. During your session it is best to close your eyes and take deep cleansing breath. Himalayan salt crystals provide negative ions that enhance the salt therapy experience.

What are the side effects of salt room therapy?
After sessions, you may experience a slight cough, minor tightness in the chest or runny nose, but this is simply the salt doing its work to remove mucus and toxins from the lungs and airways. How often should you come? Depending on age, 20-30 sessions are recommended for long term results.

What do I wear?
There is no special gear required for the treatment, except no shoes are allowed inside the Salt room. We do recommend white socks which you can remove once seated in our zero gravity reclining lounge chair. The temperature inside the Salt Rooms is regular room temperature. You can wear comfortable clothing for the entire session. If you do have skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis, we welcome you to wear shorts and light T-shirt to expose your skin to salt as much as possible.

Is the Salt room safe for children?
It is definitely safe for children. There are no potential harmful effects. The treatment is completely natural and in fact, children often respond to treatment faster than adults. At The Salt Room, we have both an Adults’ and Children’s therapy. Children can play with toys while receiving the benefits of salt therapy.
